The Program is Simple

Adult trumpet, sax and trombone players in Tri-County New Horizons Band

First, choose an instrument. Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion. What appeals to you?

Players may already own an instrument and know what they want to play. If not, we can let you try a variety of instruments to find the one most suitable for you. Rental instruments are available from area music stores.

Lessons

We offer like-instrument group lessons to everyone on a weekly basis. Lessons are scheduled for before and after the full band rehearsal. Anyone who would like more intensive, private instruction may arrange that with one of the instructors or find a lesson teacher outside of the program.

Rehearsals

The full band rehearses together twice per week for an hour. Members also often arrange to arrive early and practice together on small ensemble music or problem spots in the band pieces. Helping each other learn makes everyone better players.

The Schedule

We meet on Monday and Thursday afternoons.

Full band rehearsal is from 1:30 to 2:30. Most members like to come a little earlier to warm up, visit, or practice together.

From 1:00 to 1:30 and from 2:00 to 2:30 are the group lessons of like instruments. For instance, the clarinet lessons are from 1:00 to 1:30 on Mondays.

Learn to play a woodwind, brass or percussion band instrument.
